Despite her less than stellar songs these days, Mariah Carey remains one of my favourite singers, very much thanks to her vocal capabilities. And so I couldnt resist the urge to buy a copy of her E=MC2 album when I saw it on sale at HMV Citylink Mall at like close to half price compared to when it was just released.
And the best song in the album, somehow coincidentally applicable to what I had gone/going through, has got to be Stay In Love.
Oh baby
Baby, I stay in love with you
Dying inside ’cause I can’t stand it
Make or break up
Can’t take this madness
We don’t even really know why
All I know is baby
I try and try so hard
To keep our love alive
If you don’t know me at this point
Then I highly doubt you ever will
I really need you to give me
That unconditional love I used to feel
It’s a mistake if we just erase it
From our hearts and minds and I know
[Chorus:]
We said let go
But I kept on hanging on
Inside I know it’s over
You’re really gone
It’s killing me
’cause there ain’t nothing
That I can do
Baby, I stay in love with you
And I keep on telling myself
That you’ll come back around
And I try to front like “Oh well”
Each time you let me down
See I can’t get over you now
No matter what I do
But baby, baby
I stay in love with you
Na na na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na na na
Baby, I stay in love with you
It cuts so deep
It hurts down to my soul
My friends tell me
I ain’t the same no more
We still need each other
When we stumble and fall
How we gonna act
Like what we had
Ain’t nothin’ at all now
Hey, what I wanna do is
Ride shotgun next to you
With the top down like we used to
Hit the block
Proud in the SUV
We both know our heart is breaking
Can we learn from our mistakes
I can’t last one moment alone
Now go I know
[Chorus x2]
I stay in love
Love
Oh, I stay in love.
I’m itching to travel. To nearby places like Malacca, Penang. And of course, go back to KL. Then venture abit further up to Bangkok, and when more income flows in, dive to Jakarta.
There’s still alot of places to visit. And even more buses to catch
Anyone wanna join me?
10km was… no kick honestly.
But I aint bragging either. I took a slow more than an hour to complete the whole route. That’s too slow by army standards. Even though I finished 122 out of like more than 200 runners.
But I’m proud of the fact that I did not even stop to take a breather, except at the halfway water point. That’s 5km non-stop, plus another 5km non-stop. I’ve never done this kind of shit before
I dont know what got into me, but I guess it’s the scenery that motivated me to just finish the whole shit asap.
And I got a cool reward at the end. The soya bean milk they prepared at the start/end point tasted so good.

Anyways, I just went over to Mandai to settle the payment for this stupid life jacket which has been returned to the rightful owner months ago LAST YEAR, but was not recorded properly on paper in black and white. In short, I’m made to pay for something that I did not even lose. But rather than blow the situation further, XL and I decided it’s best to just 1206 the stupid life jacket and shut the crap out of everyone.
Sigh. There goes $54.40.

Volvo B7 with Wright Eclipse bodywork on Wilts & Dorset's 'more' branded route m1 to Castlepoint.

UK bus operators often have catchy messages at the back promoting their services.
The bus I have been waiting for months finally came in last week fresh from the ovens of Corgi.
This latest bus 1:76 bus model is OM46012 – a Volvo B7RLE Wright Eclipse operated by Wilts & Dorset under the brand ‘more’.
The name Wilts & Dorset was first seen on the sides of buses in 1915, when the company began running a service between Salisbury and Amesbury using McCurd and locally built Scout motor buses. Today, Wilts & Dorset runs buses in Wiltshire, Dorset and South West Hampshire in the UK; the award winning ‘more’ brand was introduced on selected routes in the Poole and Bournemouth area in December 2004. The ‘more’ branded Volvo B7 buses, as illustrated by this model, are very popular and the ‘more’ routes have experienced pasenger growth in recent years of over 30%.
This model is available in dual destinations/split runs, with mine here showing route M1 to Castlepoint and the other M2 to Poole.
With this addition, there are now 22 buses resting at the BAM Bus Interchange, including the two units of Sentosa buses… and that means I had to stack some of the toy bus models to make space for the new replicas of real buses!
Property developer Far East Organisation really has issues when it comes to designing shopping malls.
First was Central (the one at Clarke Quay next to the Singapore River) with its confusing layout and squeezy corridors and weird basement.
Then came West Coast Plaza with its basement that looks like it’s the ground floor. Lucky for this ex-Ginza Plaza, the layout is straighforward.
And the latest, Orchard Central. The tallest shopping mall along Orchard Road, one of the new malls to spring up this year alongside Ion Orchard and 313. I don’t mind the height. But the layout is uber confusing. Again there are small dark corridors (labelled runways) and walkways that lead to nowhere in particular. It is difficult to differentiate which section is which, if there are even any distinctive ones in the first place.
Such a disappointment, I didnt even bother to go look for the advertised indoor rock climbing facility.
Hopefully the other two malls – Ion and 313 – will not be a letdown.
“Hafiz, can I have permission to…?”
“Why are you asking me for permission sia?”
“Cos you’re the most senior here mah!”
*kembang sebentar* *woah moment*
“Oh okay, yeah, can.”
Only then did it occur to me that it seems only yesterday that I joined the medical centre. And now everyone goes after me for this and that.
Time flies.
From the moment I’ve known Michael Jackson, I’ve never liked him. Be it the moves or the nose. Say what you want, but to me, he’s just… another singer.
His most meaningful contribution to the world though, is probably this song:
Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the entire human race.
